Want to contribute to Rowdy Outdoors and earn some Rowdy credit for your effort?
We’re looking for hunters, fishermen, ranchers, and outdoor folks who can tell a great story or share useful knowledge that helps our community become better in the field.
Maybe you have a hunting story you’ll never forget, a lesson you learned the hard way, or a skill that could help someone on their next adventure. If you think the Rowdy community would enjoy it, learn from it, or relate to it, we’d love to hear from you.
Here's how it works.
Use the form below to submit your article. If we accept it for publication on rowdyoutdoors.com and/or our newsletter we'll follow up with an email asking you for photos and/or videos that support the article.
As soon as it's published, we'll issue you an exclusive $75 Rowdy Outdoors Gear Contributor Gift Card to use at rowdyoutdoors.com and will give you all credit for your work.
So what are we looking for specifically?
- Complete articles. It doesn’t have to be perfect, but it should be finished enough for us to understand the full story or lesson you want to share.
- Your article should be well written. Run it through a grammar and spell checker like Grammarly before submitting it. We will automatically reject any article with bad writing errors. At the same time, we're not looking for perfection. Keep it casual, honest, and easy to follow like you’re telling the story to a friend. Just make sure we don’t have to guess what you’re trying to say.
- Your article should be compelling. If you tell a hunting story, include what made the hunt significant. If you're explaining a hunting or outdoor skill that's good for everyone to know, have easy to understand. We like articles titled "5 Steps To A Better Fall Season," or something similar.
- We may have questions or suggestions that make your work more suitable for our community. Don't be offended if we ask for more or ask you to make small changes. We're trying to do right by the readers. Nothing more, nothing less.
- How many words should it be? If your article is 300 words and conveys the point, great. If it takes 3,000, that's good too. We don't care how many words it is, as long as the article is interesting and complete.
